Coimbatore is the second largest city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a major commercial centre in Tamil Nadu and is known as the "Manchester of South India". Coimbatore is an important textile and manufacturing hub of Tamil Nadu. Other important industries include software services, education and healthcare. It is one of the growth centres in India and has been ranked 4th among Indian cities. Coimbatore is situated in the west of Tamil Nadu, bordering the state of Kerala. It is surrounded by the Western Ghats mountain range on the West and North, with reserve forests and the on the northern side.
The city is well connected by road, rail and airways. Coimbatore has an international airport Coimbatore International Airport. The Coimbatore Railway station is well connected with major indian cities.
